Some Catholic Ireland Resources

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

We at Church Services TV work very closely with Catholicireland.net. Indeed we share a kitchen. kettle and daily chats with them:).  So Today’s blog is about what an important support they are to the Irish Catholic community.

Catholicireland.net is owned by Church Support Ltd, a registered charity in Ireland. Charity number CHY17720. www.churchsupportgroup.com
It is set up to promote and support the work of the Catholic Church in Ireland and abroad on the World Wide Web. Its aim is to ensure that the positive initiatives being taken by members of the Catholic Church in Ireland have a dynamic and attractive forum on the web and other modern media. Its goal is apostolic, to support people in the living of their Catholic faith, to reach out to those who may have drifted away and to be a source of information and inspiration for those who do not believe and are searching.

The idea is to establish Catholicireland.net as the internet Portal website, gathering all the very best of Irish Catholic activity and international links. The Catholicireland.net team will generate resources to support people at each milestone of their Catholic life.

The Patron of this organisation is Cardinal Seán Brady, Primate of all Ireland.
Catholicireland.net have a number of services that we find especially useful.

Daily Mass readings are available to download or view on line at http://www.catholicireland.net/component/cifeed?task=readings and are available in both English and Irish. The next Sunday readings are also available in advance. This is very useful for Church readers also. For those interested there are also reflections and homily notes available http://www.catholicireland.net/homilies

The 2011  for the Catholic Church in Ireland is available online at http://www.catholicireland.net/images/stories/documents/lit_cal_2011.pdf
There is also a link to the Sunday Mass readings in a variety of European languages on the same site.

Would you like a nice pictorial desktop with a Christian message each day? You may have one for free! See www.catholicireland.net and go to the bottom of the front page. Click on your choice of screen saver/desktop.  Below is todays picture.

Do you know of any other websites or portals that may be of interest to our viewers? If so please email info@churchservices.tv and we will include them in out Blog. We are interested in resources for the Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian and Methodist churches in Ireland and the UK in particular.

Recording Request for Armagh Cathedral

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Hello, my name is J_ and my grandfather was buried in Armagh Cathedral on **nd **** 2011 at 12pm. I myself was present at the service, however, several of my cousins were abroad in Australia and were able to watch the service online due to the fantastic service provided by this website! For this, i commend and thank you for making this possible.
Since then, others members of my family have asked is it possible for them to see the service again for example via replay or by dvd? I understand the website provides a live stream but i was wondering are any of the services able to be replayed or available on dvd?
I would be very grateful if you could assist me in this matter.
Thank you
J_

Dear J_

My condolences on the death of your Grandfather. As you are stated above the current services on the web site are for Live streaming of church services only. We are currently developing the software and technology to allow the recoding of these services but unfortunately this will not be available for Armagh Cathedral until later in the Spring.

Kind Regards

Maria
